Bill Bosler will celebrate the release of his new album, Dulcimer Daydreams, with a free live concert on October 24. Doors open at 3:30 PM, and the concert begins at 4:00 PM, with approximately an hour of live music. The performance brings together a group of talented area musicians. Bosler will perform on hammered dulcimer with Kevin Joiner on guitar and backup vocals, Jetta Cruse on bass and backup vocals, Andrew Osano on bass and cello, Liesl Mom on violin, David Mom on violin, banjo and mandolin, John Potthast on mandolin, Doug Harsch on guitar and backup vocals, and Scott Caviness on guitar. With Dulcimer Daydreams, Bosler invites listeners into the rich, ringing world of the hammered dulcimer — an instrument capable of both delicate introspection and driving rhythmic energy. The album is bookended by soft, contemplative pieces that set a dreamlike tone, while its emotional heart lies in “Sylvia's Perce,” a heartfelt tribute to Bosler's mother. Between these quieter moments, the record picks up steam with a set of spirited original tunes, three beloved old-time fiddle standards reworked for dulcimer and string band, and two familiar cover songs given fresh life through Bosler's distinctive playing. The result is a record that moves gracefully between stillness and celebration — rooted in old-time tradition, but shaped by Bosler's own voice on the instrument. Dulcimer Daydreams is both a showcase of the instrument's range and a personal statement. The CD release concert is free and will include complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Music begins at 4:00 PM following the 3:30 PM doors opening.
